I don't mean the obvious stuff like waking up in a morning, coughing or someone drop-kicking you I was in the ladies' today and there's this new hand dryer. One of those super-sonic 3 second things. And my god did the noise irritate my head. I wanted to kick it off the wall. Nothing usually bothers me, loud music etc is fine on the whole. Do any noises irritate your headaches? Kay.

i cant stand loud music anymore and yer the dyson hand dryers really irritate me. This is a weird one but when im in a car and someone has their window open the sound of the window vibrating really hurts me. theres just so many. I think im really odd as sometimes i cant hardly hear things and other times even quiet noises can seem so deafening to me. Theres just so many annoyances for me lol.

Vacume cleaner!!
Great way of getting out of the house work eh? Might have to try that one when I move back home in a few weeks haha I can usually tell how bad my head is by how sensitive to noise i am That's interesting. I wonder if that's a sign my head is getting worse too. I usually don't need my LP's for around 8-10 weeks... But this time it's only been about 5-6 weeks and my headache is back and noises don't usually bother me but that hand dryer seriously bothered me. Thanks for that Kay

I often find that strong smells irritate my headaches. Cigarette smoke is the worse, if someone is smoking near me it really does aggravate my headache.

I went to the cinema the other day - the first time in probably 12/18 months or so. The sound was absolutely killing my left ear and i spent most of the time with my finger in it, blocking out the sound. Probably not a good look in a packed out cinema! lol Another thing is having a fan on, i have to make sure my left ear (the more sensitive to sound one... ) is away from that. Oh and of course when anyone sneezes loudly in my vicinity, i cringe from the discomfort. Apart from that, i'm pretty normal

i cant do cinema at all (normally anyway). The noise and the brightness of the screen and im in so much pain within 10 mins. When i do go which believe me is rare and its only if i have to(ie taking my neice as no one else will especially her mother) i take dark glasses and ear plugs. It helps alot, yer ok i miss most of the film but its a small price to pay to be pain free.

My neurologist refers to it as white noise. I can't walk by refrigerators, fans, water coming out of a faucet, an airplane flying overhead, ect. any of these give me a sensation of fullness in my left ear and I get a vertigo attack (which includes bad nausea). If I'm exposed for too long, I get the worse earache and head ache in the world. He told me that this has been reported by IIH patients. I don't know if you want to try this, because if your sensitive, it will induce the above symptoms, but if you do it for just a second, it will give you an example of what I am talking about. http://simplynoise.com/

I sometimes use a wind one or music I just can't stand the wooshing or ringing sound at night!
