Hiya Sarah,
I too have a wierd sensation in my face and head alot. Its like a vibrating, numbing pins and needles and its driving me round the bend!! I thought it was to do with the meds as i also suffer from bad pins and needles in my hands and feet  confused  But you say its not to do with the meds?
Hope someone can let us both know if its a part of IIH or the meds  Smiley: smiling

i too get weird sensations in my face and neck mines more like a tingeling numb feeling really weird though. Mine started with the onset of my iih symptoms before diamo was started. My g.p laughs at me and calls me text book and a bit more. My surgery has not long become a teaching surgery too and whenever i go for an appointment he drags in a few students even though its not his teaching time. I really dont mind if it educates them and saves someone else the suffering some of us have been through.

katking- I sort of get light headed but mines more of a pressure feeling when i stand up  Smiley: blinking smiley , lightheadedness can sometimes be caused by your BP dropping too much when changing positions.

Its so weird, like the other day my neck actually felt like it was vibrating so i touched it expecting it to be moving and was really surprised when it wasnt  laughing

Isn't it strange how we all seem to have the same symptoms confused

When I was on a fairly big dose of Topiramate (Topamax), I used to get tingling/pins and needles in my lips and the tip of my nose - It was very annoying.
My Neuro' reduced my dose slightly and it went away - Never had it since

Hi

Well I mentioned this wierd tingling/vibrating pins & needles today to one of the Drs at the hospital where I am treated and he said its nothing to do with IIH hes saying I am having panic attacks which is leading to poor circulation   Smiley: noooo!  He has prescribed Proponolol 40mg daily but I am a bit scared to take them as I have had panic attacks before when going on a plane ect and I dont think this is what I am having...
I have looked them up on the internet and there beta-blockers maily used for heart conditions ect. I just wondered is anyone else on this medication??

What make your dr think its panic attacks?
I saw my doc the other day, but didn't directly ask about the sensations unfortunately, I really should try to remember to ask about it at my next appt  yes .
Btw I've heard of that drug before but never had it personally, i hope it helps you  grin

Hi
He said that the pins and needles should of worn off from the diamox by now and you dont normally get them in your face off the diamox... he said diamox can cause anxiety as a side affect so told me to try these tablets to stop me having 'panic attacks'. Personally I dont think its panic attacks I am having as I am not a panicy person lol I can be nervous at times but I dont ever feel anxious.
Anyway not got them yet got to see my Dr tomorrow to get the prescription and see what he thinks about them as not too keen on them  Smiley: smiling

I found this question interesting.  My Drs. at UC Davis had taken me off of my IIH meds (Diamox) thinking that it was in remission and that my current symptoms were all related to my migraines.  I was having side effects with the Diamox that they were worried about; bad tingling in my lower legs and arms and pain in my lower arms and hands.  I already had what I would describe as numbness around my left ear and slightly into my face before they took me off.  Within a few days of being completely off of the Diamox the numbness went halfway across my face and my left ear (which always feels full) and my left eye were in the worse pain I have ever felt.  My vertigo also returned so bad that I couldn't stand up.  I called my Neurologist and he said to immediately get back on the Diamox as that symptom in that area is a sign of high pressure.  He told me that they were wrong about it being in remission.  He also said that Diamox takes 8 hours to start working and vice-versa when you go off of it.  I have to see him early next week.  Smiley: unsure
