Pop up issues.......my laptop has an option where I can allow pop-ups "from this site only". I can normally get to it through the little pop up blocked thing that drops down (by right clicking on it) but I think there is an option in the Internet options (found in tools).
You could also try holding CTRL when you click as this sometimes bypasses my pop up blocker.
Yup, depending on your browser, often you can allow pop-ups from certain sites only (Firefox has that option). With Internet Explorer you can either click where instructed to on the "blocked content" bar, or tweak your general Internet options: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Pop-Up Blocker > Settings. Once you're in 'Settings' you can specify individual sites that can generate pop-ups. For anyone who uses Google Chrome (current betas anyhow), pop-ups are 'hidden' at the bottom of the screen with only the very top of them showing, and you can see the whole pop-up by dragging it into the visible area of the screen. In Opera, "Tools" then "Preferences" controls the general behaviour of pop-ups, but you can over-ride the settings there for individual sites by going to "Tools" > "Quick Preferences" > "Edit site preferences".
For IIH Support, you're safe to allow pop-ups (and cookies) for this site. The only pop-ups the site will generate are new PM notifications (if you've set up the option of a notification in your profile, otherwise you won't get any pop-ups from the forum) for the forum and the chat room.
The site uses 3 cookies - two for the forum to recognise you when you come back and save you having to enter your username/password every time, and to calculate forum stats, and one for the chat room, again to remember your chat room login details if you've ticked that option. For the forum, one cookie recognises your forum account details, and the other, a "session" cookie, is used to calculate how long you've been on the forum and the boards and threads you've viewed, and is deleted from your computer when you close your browser. It can't be used in any way to individually identify you except to add the pages of the forum you've visited to the forum's statistics that you can view by following the statistics link near to the bottom of the front page of the forum. Our advertisers
may also place a cookie on your computer, but that's simply to identify that you've arrived at their site via here, and can't be used to identify you or track other websites you visit.
